| This model was developed to illustrate the use of RadTherm and Wintherm for thermal process development. In this example, a large motor-pump system is passing through a paint-curing oven. Although the software can handle movement of parts by recalculating view factors after translations, the faster way to model a process oven is to apply "moving boundary conditions." This approach divides the oven geometry and the part into sections. Temperature curves are developed for each oven section with matching convection rates. This approach eliminates the need to recalculate view factors as the object "moves" through the process. Although the curves illustrated handle a complete 4-station conveyorized oven system, only the initial entry into the oven is shown in the animations. |
